Required Proof of Education, Licensure, and Identification for AEA Membership

All applicants are required to upload verifiable proof of electrology education when submitting a membership application. Applications cannot be processed without this documentation. Requirements vary depending on how your training was completed.

Option 1: Trained at an Electrology School

Includes training completed in a licensed or unlicensed state.

Please submit:

• A photocopy of your electrology school diploma.
• A copy of your current driver's license or other government-issued photo ID.
• If applicable, a copy of your current electrologist license or other government-issued credential authorizing the practice of electrology/electrolysis in your jurisdiction.

Option 2: Trained Outside of an Electrology School

Includes training completed in a licensed or unlicensed state.

Please submit:

• A photocopy of a diploma or transcript from your trainer.
• A notarized affidavit from your apprenticeship instructor. The instructor must have been an AEA Certified Professional Electrologist (CPE) in good standing for a minimum of five years before serving as your instructor and must have remained an AEA Certified Professional Electrologist in good standing throughout your entire apprenticeship training period.
• A copy of your current driver's license or other government-issued photo ID.
• If applicable, a copy of your current electrologist license or other government-issued credential authorizing the practice of electrology/electrolysis in your jurisdiction.

Application Review

Once all required documentation has been received, your application will be reviewed. You will be notified when your AEA membership has been activated. Please allow up to two weeks for the review and approval process.
